Directions to the Copper Fern when traveling the Inland Highway #19 (Freeway)
When traveling on the freeway from either the north or the south take Exit 117 onto the Courtenay Connector. Follow the signs toward Courtenay. Turn left at the first traffic light onto Cumberland Road. After approximately 100 m. turn left onto Marsden Road. Travel for 1.5 km. on Marsden Rd. (watch your speed along this straight road – the limit is just 50kph). Look over the farm fields on your left for beautiful views of the Comox Glacier. Stop at the stop sign at Lake Trail Rd. Turn left onto Lake Trail. Travel 150m. and turn left into the fifth driveway (3694-B Lake Trail). You have arrived at the Copper Fern. Time to relax!
Directions to the Copper Fern when traveling from the south (Nanaimo) on highway #19A – Coastal Scenic Route
Enter the southern outskirts of Courtenay on Hwy 19A (called Cliffe Ave. in Courtenay). At the second set of street lights turn left on to 26th St. Travel up 26th St. to a four-way stop sign and turn right onto Willemar Ave. After 500 m. you will come to a roundabout. Go straight through the roundabout and continue on Willemar Ave. At the four way stop turn left onto Lake Trail Rd. (Lake Trail Community School can be seen from the intersection). After about one km. you will pass Arden School on your left. After passing through the Marsden Rd. intersection, count five driveways on your left. The Copper Fern is the fifth driveway (3694-B Lake Trail Rd.). Your driveway is just opposite Munster Rd. on the right.
Directions to the Copper Fern when traveling from the North (Campbell River) on highway #19A – Coastal Scenic Route
Enter the northern outskirts of Courtenay on Hwy 19A. Go straight through each set of traffic lights, following the signs to take you into downtown Courtenay. Go over the 5th St. Bridge and stay on 5th St. which is the main street of downtown Courtenay. Stay on 5th until you come to a sharp left bend (Lake Trail School is directly ahead). At the four-way stop turn right onto Lake Trail Rd. (the school yard is now on your right hand side). After about one km. you will pass Arden School on your left. After passing through the Marsden Rd. intersection, count five driveways on your left. The Copper Fern is the fifth driveway (3694-B Lake Trail Rd.). Your driveway is just opposite Munster Rd. on the right.
