What an amazing place! We were looking for a nice relaxing affordable place to stay for a couple of days while I was back in the Valley for a quick visit. The Copper Fern stood out on the listings, so we booked. When we arrived, Chris, the owner was there to greet us and gave us a full tour. The suite is immaculate, essentially brand new, and there was everything one would ever need there. What a nice surprise to have the fridge filled with food for our breakfast the first morning, in fact so much that we didn’t eat it all even after 2 days. Molly even had made wonderful muffins for us, MMmmmmm. The bed was very comfortable and the futons in the living room folded down easy for our son to sleep on. The place is so quiet as you are in the country, yet only a couple of minutes from downtown Courtenay. We didn’t get outside much due to the snow, but loved the gate to the back yard and the fact that Chris and Molly have a huge garden. We really want to come back and see what it looks like later in the year when all the plants are up and producing. Around the suite are a variety of books and of course WiFi and TV. I had an event to attend on Saturday, so my wife just hung out in the suite all day and found it so peaceful just being there. For what is there and the price to stay there, we will definitely be back to the Copper Fern again and again. Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway.

Your first guests at the potentially named B&B “The Copper Fern”! It has been a beautiful weekend celebrating Nichole and Jarrett’s wedding together, getting a little taste of Courtenay & Comox, visiting a few of the town’s delights and waking up to a basket of blueberry muffins on our front door step. You both are so warm and welcoming and have created a most memorable experience for myself and my “roomies”! I cant’ thank you enough and hope to be back for a visit real soon! Thank you Chris and Molly for such a lovely stay at your beautiful B&B! We arrived on the 22nd for the start of Nichole and Jarrett’s wedding festivities and after a lo-o-ong journey starting early that morning in Seattle it was perfection to arrive at this home away from home on Vancouver Island. The attention you have paid to every last detail of comfort and décor is evident and made it hard for us to even want to head out into the world to explore! The B&B was the perfect spot to sleep, eat, read, and to help prepare for the magical wedding next door! From preparing fruits & veggies to doing the brides’ hair and make up and getting her into her beautiful dress this has been an excellent place for friends, family, and helpers to take part in the special day. Thank you both for your warm and generous hospitality. We’ll remember you most of all!

Molly and Chris Thank you so much for everything! This B&B is beyond amazing!!! We had the best time staying here – it feels like paradise! Courtenay is such a great town and I definitely know I will be back one day and would love to stay here! Thank you again for your hospitality – we really felt like we were part of the family! Wonderful people, beautiful design, incredibly well supplied and organized – Copper Fern is a first-rate guest house. Local provisions were great. I’ll be back; rain or shine, this is a lovely place to be. Surrounded by beauty and quiet, with genuine hospitality offered by Molly and Chris. Don’t forget to smell the roses and enjoy the hummingbirds at the feeder!

Thanks for a very enjoyable stay at your guesthouse the best we have been to anywhere. There was nothing we needed that we could not find. An impeccable place! Between Hot Chocolates in Courtenay and the hikes around Paradise Meadows we had a wonderful time.

We feel so blessed to have spent these past four months here at Copperfern. The space has been a beautiful backdrop for our work and your hospitality such a delight. We’ve left a puzzle here for future guests (or you!) to enjoy.

Your guest house has provided us with the perfect getaway. You have made your cottage absolutely lovely and adorable filled with every amenity anyone might ever need!
